Saturday, September 2. – PAX Prime Day 2
12:00 pm (PST)
Day 2 of PAX started later and it felt good. We slept in with The Battle Moose then headed to have dim-sum in the New Hong-Kong restaurant. It was such a nice dim-sum place, maybe not as big as the one in New York, but with the same cart system and friendlier service.
After dim-sum I got to ride the bus in the free ride zone which was surprisingly a free bus ride. We then stood in line for the Acquisition Inc. – thanks to our friends we got to stand in the beginning of the line and waited only like an hour. For those who’re not familiar with Acquisition Inc.; it’s a Dungeons & Dragons game session where Jim, Omen, Binwin and Al are going up against Dungeon Master extraordinaire Chris Perkins in an incredible adventure. And this time they played D&D.
3:30 pm (PST)
We got amazing seats in the Paramount Theater for the Acquisition Inc. game session and had 2,5 hours of laughter and fun. I was very happy to got for two reasons: 1) I got to see Wil Wheaton playing D&D for the first time, and 2) I got to see a D&D game for the first time. This was an amazing experience, so I don’t even mind that I didn’t get to scavenger hunt the expo hall this time.
8:00 pm (PST)
After dinner we went to the Dishonored party which took place it the Stimson Green Mansion. It was an absolutely phenomenal idea, but slightly too much people for me to call it perfect.
Picture this: just like in the game, you’re invited to a ball where you have to wear a mask. During the night you get to play clue while you’re served food and drinks. Your goal is to guess what color is Lady Boyle’s costume while making smalltalk with the “stuff” who look seriously spooky. It was such an exciting party in an excellent venue. I even had a chance to play the game which was very difficult to control, yet amazingly amusing to play.
The demo game took place somewhere further into the storyline, so I didn’t get a chance to get used to the controls and learn about my abilities. But I liked the graphics and the story, so there’s a pretty high chance that I’ll get the game.
11:30 pm (PST)
After we get enough of the people and the Dishonored Mansion, we went to get drinks then headed home. Since Sunday was the last day of PAX I needed all my energy for the Expo Hall. I’ll talk more abut it tomorrow, but now watch this official Dishonored trailer. What do you think, does it look great?
